Karen is my girl! I was preparing to interview Meek Mill at his first stop of his Motivation Tour in Miami (it didn’t pan out but I did see the show) and one of the questions I had for him was about boss women. In “Going Bad” Meek shouts out Lori Harvey who is a cute girl but does absolutely nothing. I’m watching SNL and Meek is performing “Going Bad” and Lori Harvey’s notoriety is just a-growing.
My question for Meek was why not shout out a baddie who is making moves? How awesome would it have been for him to say, “I have Karen Civil on my wishlist” and then people would want to know who Karen Civil is.
I am sick of women with zero talent being admired for doing nothing but getting cute for IG. Where my boss chicks at? You know those with a job.
Anywho, I’ve been a fan of Karen for years. I met her at a Color Comm event in LA a few years ago and I admire her badassness. She’s the plug for all things Hip-Hop.
If you’re in the NYC area and have an interest in a Black woman who actually does something for a living, head to this event.
