I know, you had no idea that Drake has a restaurant called Pick 6ix in Toronto. I know because I know everything about Drake. I even run a Drake fan website called www.drakesdrizzies.com cause fly girls who like Drake are called Drizzies.
I have a love/hate relationship with Drake. He is the epitome of the f*ckboy that you know you need to leave alone but you keep going back to him. When I think of Drake this meme always comes to mind:
Pusha-T definitely had me side eyeing Drake. When you talk about character, Drake’s character is iffy. Like, we know nothing about Drake outside the fact that he can make a bop. He profits off of the Black experience but is he really about the Black experience? How does Drake feel about police brutality? Or the racism that so many Black people face? Even though he is Canadian, what does he think about Donald Trump?
Drake comes off like a Kardashian, profiting of the Black experience but ain’t really down for the cause.
The doors to Drake’s new Toronto restaurant opened back in February 2018 but an epic thunderstorm wreaked havoc in Toronto last August and Drake’s sushi-serving sports bar suffered severe water damage.
Pick 6ix’s IG page posted a message on August 18, 2018 stating, “Due to the severe rain that Toronto experienced last night, we've undergone a flood at Pick 6ix and the restaurant is closed for maintenance. We'll be notifying our customers on this channel as soon as we have an expected update to the situation.”
But there has been no update and IG folks are saying that they have walked past the restaurant on 33 Yonge Street and it’s still boarded up with no signs of construction.
It’s probably for the best as the restaurant got horrible reviews, some say, it started from the bottom and needed to stay there with it’s overpriced mediocre food. Pick 6ix currently holds a two-and-a-half star rating with 32 reviews. Yelpers called the staff “snobby,” “rude, disrespectful, and non-hospitable.” Pick 6ix looked beautiful though and it sucks that most won’t be able to experience it. I wonder why Drake hasn't made plans to reopen. Is it because Drake has a thing for abandoning things?
