I am always recommending CBD to my fly girls. Can’t sleep? Try CBD. Suffer from anxiety? Try CBD. Have aches and pain? Yup—CBD. Skincare concerns? CBD.
CBD has a calming effect to promote sleep, mood, and anxiety. It eases hot flashes and improves bone density by balancing hormonal changes of menopause; it’s promoted for PMS symptoms like bloating and mood swings. And it has anti-inflammatory properties to clear skin, cure acne, and calm rosacea. CBD-infused lubricants even claim to boost arousal and the enjoyment of sex.
CBD is not weed. CBD is a major ingredient in cannabis plants (like hemp and marijuana). It comes in different strengths and forms, often as CBD oil but also in pills and powders. It can be absorbed through the skin, ingested, or inhaled. Unlike marijuana, pure CBD products don’t make you feel high. A different ingredient in marijuana called THC makes people feel high.
To me, CBD gives women superpowers. It gives us the power to rest and rejuvenate. It’s an herbal tool to get out of our own heads for just a bit. Even Queen B herself, Beyonce has discovered the amazing effects of CBD. In her last summer Harper’s Bazaar article, the R&B star revealed that she is building a cannabis and hemp farm to obtain her own CBD.
“I discovered CBD on my last tour, and I’ve experienced its benefits for soreness and inflammation,” she said in the interview. “It helped with my restless nights and the agitation that comes from not being able to fall asleep.”
