Fly Beauty: Introducing Baby Phat Beauty

High school Fly Carla is rejoying! I remember my high school boyfriend buying me a Baby Phat bucket hat with the matching purse. You couldn’t tell me anything with my Baby Phat accessories popping in the 11th grade. 

So clearly, I’m all for the launch of Baby Phat Beauty. Queen of fabulosity Kimora Lee Simmons and daughters Ming and Aoki Lee Simmons are expanding on their Baby Phat empire with the launch of Baby Phat Beauty. The expansion into the beauty category is a collaboration with HatchBeauty Brands, a Los Angeles beauty company founded in 2009. 

Lee Simmons on the new beauty expansion, “I think it’s very important that right now, in this time of Black Lives Matter, that could be brown lives matter, to be a young woman, certainly for Ming and Aoki, and for myself, to be a woman, a woman of color, to have your own brand.”

Baby Phat Beauty launches with a three-item Shimmer Dreams gift set, which includes an illuminating body spray (four ounces), a plumping lip gloss (0.35 ounces) and a hydrating body lotion (three ounces). Items are packaged in a reusable pink glitter travel pouch detailed with the famed Baby Phat cat motif.

The Shimmer Dream set is offered in one of three scent combinations: Divine (black currant, jasmine and vanilla), Opulence (peach, midnight orchid and caramel) and Ethereal (green apple, red berries and amber).
