That:
“Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do”
is so infectious (you just sung it in your head, didn’t you?). It’s Black Girl Magic in a melody. It’s so happy and sassy and it always brings me back to my elementary school days where my biggest worry was learning cursive. Listening to Shanice’s 1991 hit, “I love Your Smile” as an adult, I never knew the lyrics were so trill.
“My boss is lame you know
And so is the pay
I'm gonna put that new black mini on my charge anyway.”
Shanice- you don’t know my life! I’m over here buying clothes via AfterPay.
Chris Brown has sampled “I Love Your Smile” for his new single, “Undecided.” “Undecided” was uploaded to streaming sites without any marketing or promotion, and is expected to be the lead single off his upcoming album, slated to be titled Indigo.
“Undecided” is a little bop mainly because of the sample. The lyrics are basic. I really wish Chris would go deeper with his lyricism. I want him to make a love song that isn’t so sexually. I always think about “Back To Sleep” which I wanted to love so badly but it was so sexually that I was turned off. Chris doesn’t need to say, “f*ck you back to sleep” for listeners to get the meaning. Innuendos are sexy. Throw a metaphor in that joint. I need intensive vocabulary, “Pretty Wings” me.
I do dig hearing Shanice back on the radio and Shanice expressed her love in a series of posts on Instagram saying: “#undecided @chrisbrownofficial ♥️”
