Fly Event: C. Wonder Presents An Evening With Comedian and Author Ali Wentworth and Adam Glassman, Creative Director Of O, The Oprah Magazine

21 Feb

Burch vs. Burch. I just read the New York Magazine article about exes and rivals Christopher Burch and Tory Burch and the article states how although Tory Burch might be the more popular of the former couple, Christopher could be a fashion icon within his own right. He recently opened a store in Soho called C.Wonder which might mimic Tory’s peppy style.

Join C.Wonder- to check the similarities of Tory’s store, as they welcome Ali Wentworth (comedian and author) and Adam Glassman of O Magazine for an event of fashion and fun.

The evening will include a Q&A with Adam and Ali, where they will answer questions from shoppers in-store, as well as select questions taken from twitter followers, who tweeted to @CWonderStore #AliandAdam in the days leading up to the event. During the Q&A, Ali and Adam will give the lowdown on must-have spring trends and discuss Ali’s hilarious memoir, Ali in Wonderland. Purchase Ali’s book from the store and get 10% off new spring merchandise.

When: Thu, February 23,5:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Where: C. Wonder, 72 Spring St, New York, NY

Fly Fashion: ‘The Hills’ Whitney Port offers clothing line Whitney Eve at NY Fashion Week

Whitney was always my fave from MTV’s “The Hills” and “The City,” and her California roots mix with her glamour girl image came through as the star debuted her Whitney Eve fall collection Wednesday at New York Fashion Week.

Her line was flirty, sleek and fun. The inspiration came from an antique kaleidoscope she found in her grandmother’s house. Port launched the collection in 2008. This was her first runway show under the Lincoln Center tents at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Whitney sent about two dozen pieces down the runaway while Tyson Beckford looked on. The show started with Beyonce’s “Run the World (Girls),” which set the tone that this line was going to be super-feminine. Dresses were floral and flowing, tops had ruffles at the sleeves, pieces were sheer and others had large glittery polka dots. Hemlines were short in the front and then longer in the back. Whitney added gold safety pin brooches and wallet chains to accessorize the looks.

Whitney also played M.I.A.’s “Bad Girls” while models graced the runway.

Zelda Kaplan

Death at a fashion show?

Sitting in the front row of the designer Joanna Mastroianni’s show, Zelda Kaplan, 95, a fixture of Manhattan night life, collapsed on Wednesday and was later pronounced dead. According to the New York Times, “Ms. Kaplan was known for her presence on the arts scene and at parties. She was the subject of a 2004 documentary, “Her Name is Zelda.” Material for the film described Ms. Kaplan’s evolution from a “typical suburban housewife” to “a beloved and eccentric creature of New York night life.”
